Here is the story of three families the Warrens and the Whytes, wealthy, powerful, and connected by the marriage of Deborah Warren and Mark Whyte; and the not-so-wealthy Morells - Cassie, the loyal housekeeper for the Warrens, and her daughter, Katia, who grew up with and adores the Warren and Whyte children. The story opens with the funeral of Deborah and Mark, who have been murdered. In the course of his investigation, Robert Cavanaugh, the detective assigned to the case, traces the rise of the families to power and uncovers secrets and scandals aplenty. He also comes to admire - and I hope you will come to love - Jordan Whyte and Katia Morell, whose futures are irrevocably linked. TWILIGHT WHISPERS is part family saga, part murder mystery, and part love story. Re-reading this book in anticipation of its reissue, I was enthralled by its characters just as strongly as I was when the book was first published so many years ago. It stands the test of time. This is one of my all time favorite books. I read this book when I was in my teens and still love it in my 30's. Katia and Jordan are what couple goals are made from. I love the mystery and the romance. My only problem with the ebook was that there were some errors. Not enough that I pulled my very old paperback back out, but enough that I noticed.Product details

This was a wonderful suspense book with just enough romance to make it extra interesting. I read this book over three days as I had free time. I never wanted to put it down but had to at times until tonight when I finally got to see how all the pieces of a complicated puzzle came together to make an awesome read. I have been a Delinsky fan for more than 20 years and she does nothing but get better and better.

I finished the book, but didn't feel that it was well written. It was predictable. The sex scenes which were billed as steamy were not. Perhaps I'm too spoiled by Diana Gabaldon's sex scenes which manage to be very explicit while still being sensitive and tasteful. I would not buy another book by Barbara Delinsky.
This was really good story. It was different from other Barbara Delinsky books I've read before. This was in depth study into two families by a detective trying to solve a murder. A very good detective and an in depth look into him as well. A mystery as told by the detective trying to solve a murder.
An engaging stringing together of seemingly disparate lives into a two family dynasty. A realistic portrayal of the slippery slope that is fame and fortune, but colored with compassion and understanding.
Truly fun read. The sex scenes kept me up reading until late into the night. My husband had the audacity to interrupt my reading of a particularly steamy scene. I almost bit his head off. Surprised by the conclusion. As the pages neared the end, I had no idea who was the murderer.
